These three athletes have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the last year. Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings. Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year. The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a popular morning radio program. The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December. The ceremony will be televised from seven in the evening GMT. The Football Star Age: 19 Sport: Football A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory. She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches. These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament. Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe. She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player. Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October. "To be named a finalist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans." Littler's Profile Age: 18 Sport: Darts The year started for Littler in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history. He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final. His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles. His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time. At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, breaking the previous record. "Being nominated for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts." The Cricket Sensation Age: 19 Sport: Cricket Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August. Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s. It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international. Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player. "I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
